The least known votive bridge in Venice

Most people know about the temporary votive bridges for the Redentore and the Salute festivities in Venice, but did you know that there's also a votive bridge for All Saints linking the Fondamente Nuove to San Michele island?

The making of this bridge, built by the military engineers using rafts, belongs to an old tradition in Venice, which came to a stop in 1950 and then was brought back in the recent years.

It's a unique chance to walk to the San Michele island - despite the fact that it's a cemetery, it's still a fascinating place. The weather these days is still mild, days are now shorter and there's a beautiful, soft light which prepares us to the next winter season.

The bridge will stay in place until the 3rd November and is open from 7:30am to 5pm.

Take the chance to enjoy Venice during these Autumn days, you can add a visit to the Biennale during its last opening weeks (with less people around)! Get in touch with us at Luxrest Venice and book your stay!
